Application Information
The applicant must appear in person at the STEAMFITTERS TECHNOLOGY CENTER, 230 WISE ROAD, HARMONY, PENNSYLVANIA 16037 to obtain and fill out an application.

Apprenticeship Requirements

Must be atleast 18 years of age at the time of the open enrollment application period. -
Must have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation. (MUST bring license with you) -
Must be a high school graduate or possess a G.E.D. diploma at the time of application. -
Must be a citizen of the United States and reside in the territorial jurisdiction of STEAMFITTERS LOCAL #449. The jurisdictional area covered by Local 449 is Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Forest, part of Greene, Lawrence, McKean, Mercer, Venango, Warren, part of Washington and the cities of Arnold and New Kensington in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. -
The applicant will be required to submit to tests for substance abuse. -
Building Trades applicants MUST complete an 18-week daytime welding class without any compensation if accepted. -
Mechanical Service applicants MUST complete a 10-week daytime HVACR class without any compensation if accepted. -
Applicants, who qualify based on written examination, scheduled for July 12th and July 13th, 2025, will be granted a personal interview.

The money order is payable to STEAMFITTERS J.A.T.C. -
Valid driver’s license -
Proof of high school completion. Either official High School or Post Secondary transcripts (preferred) and/or a copy of the awarded diploma or G.E.D. paperwork showing results of the testing. -
Military veterans please provide a copy of your DD-214 – Report of Separation -
